The primary goal of the Foundation is supporting the activities of the academic community and organizational units of the University of Warsaw, including: scientific research, publishing endeavors, development of the University’s resources, scientific cooperation and organization of conferences, cultural activity. This goal is pursued especially through financial and organizational support provided by the Foundation to the best projects, which are selected by way of competition.
“Life in Palmyra, life for Palmyra” academic conference
The conference program featured presentations of over 30 leading specialists on Palmyrene studies. “Life in Palmyra, life for Palmyra” took place on April 21st and on 22nd, 2017 at The University of Warsaw. The participating scholars represented various international archaeological expeditions working in Palmyra, including the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, as well as Syrian archaeological teams specialized in this field.
